DNC Live Commentary

Lol flipped over to Fox....."talked about some promises her delivered on, like ending the war in Iraq....which some would argue was only possible as a result of the troop surge he voted against as a senator"

fuck off Fox

Truthfully, the President didn't have to do much (a glorified stump speech) because his competition is so weak. When the Republican party abandons the religious right, realizes that tolerance based on race/gender/sexuality shouldn't be a partisan issue, cuts back on saber rattling and overspending on the defense budget, and acknowledges that some government programs ARE needed while maintaining that many are ineffective... They will become respectable again. Instead, we're stuck with these guys whether we like it or not.

If Clinton hit a grand slam with his speech, then I think Obama hit a stand up triple tonight - very good, but not great.

I wonder what Archbishop Dolan's position is on abortion.

He should have had more of the last quarter of his speech and less of the laundry list of "look what I did!"

Let me say that I will gladly vote for a Republican when they stop being so socially backwards.

Stop being anti-gay
Stop making welfare recipients the boogeyman
Stop being anti-abortion
Stop being anti-woman

Then, we'll talk.

What a rational and true statement.

Oh you mean the Republican Revolution of 1994 and the Contract w/ America years? Yeah I remember that.

Sure, Newt deserves credit too. We've had 20 years of GOP Presidents since '81 and no years of balanced budgets under those guys.

weren't you like 11 years old?

13 in 94, but I've read a few books about it as well as being a dorky kid who watched the news and shit.

Clinton is lightyears ahead of Obama in terms of leadership. Kudos to him and I wish like hell he kept his damn dick in his pants.

Agree - it felt almost like a State of the Union address for the first 3/4.

You don't really understand how the office of Vice President works.

He's in 2nd line if Romney wins, that's closer than him being a member of the House, duh. Plus he's a leading candidate for Speaker now AND could be the candidate in 2016.
