BOOOoooo don't get the pressboard. Between craigslist and goodwill, you can surely find some cheap solid wood dresser to paint some awesome color. I want to do this so badly (also for running clothes! they've outgrown their tupperware drawers) but don't have anywhere I can do the painting :(

You should move to America? Pretty sure that is included in the Constitution.

This post seems to really fit your clothing posts' formula.

I really like this idea for a fun outfit, but I probably won't be able to make it work. I'll just settle for this because it's plain and comfortable.

don't forget cheap and easy to find/buy!

What lbe said. Check thrift stores too...or even antique stores. My sister has repainted a couple of old dressers that she got for under $40 at antique stores & they look great. She even found an antique armoire for $100 with glass doors that she now uses in the dining room as a liquor cabinet and showcase for wineglasses & such.

i mean, i guess i could do it outside in teh apartment grass... but then i have to sit w/ it all day.
i need a garage like WHOA. i want a compound mitre saw almost as badly as i want the kitchen aid stand mixer that everyone should own, and i have nowhere to put it.

People steal in Portland? I guess the dream of the 90's is in fact, dead.

I'm afraid of craigslist but I'm sure I could find something easily at used furniture shops, it's just a matter of being able to get anywhere during business hours anytime soon. Football and weddings take up the next three weekends but maybe after that.

I'd probably paint on my porch - do you have a balcony or anything?

Do you have a balcony. If so, you could do with with this paint.

I think personalizing/jazzing pressboard is fine too but there are some good used furniture places in WS, too! Habitat Restore, Kinnamons, Consignment Furniture Emporium are all ~1 mile apart.

I can't quickly find hours for Kinnamons but I'd been thinking specifically of Consignment Furniture Emporium, and they are only open until 6p on weekdays + Sat, closed Sundays. ReStore is about the same. I'm hard pressed to get anywhere much before 6:00 since I work in Greensboro and Sunday is my main free day.

Maybe Oct 13 I can hit up the furniture shops during the bye week. I won't have another free Saturday until mid-November after that.

Yeah it's definitely tough getting places that only have standard business hours. I guess it just depends on what you want/how soon.

I don't want it enough to burn a vacation day just to buy some crappy furniture.

*cough cough* damn, that's a nasty cough you have RTQ. You should go to the doctor and get that checked out. 2:00 appointment... better leave at lunch.

i do have a balcony... and that paint is beautiful. i love the matte finish. i'd either go matte finish or totally lacquered/glossy. most likely grey, with some fun knobs.

is that paint specifically good for painting on balconies? i like the suggestion, but you seemed to tie it to painting on a balcony, lol.

Could be teh AIDS. Best not to take chances.

LOL if I felt comfortable pretending to be sick, I wouldn't have 9 weeks of sick time piling up.

On the subject of sick/vacation days, how many of yall have that system instead of PTO? PTO is so vastly superior. Don't want to work? Don't come to work.

I was trying to think of a place that you could paint your furniture.

I think one of my friends painted her furniture using that paint on her balcony. My mother has used it numerous times and loves it.
