Official Debate Watching Thread

Martin Bashir,"Mitt Romney is the Ron Jeremy of politics. No one has taken more positions."

I don't know if I should be flattered or ashamed that jhmd and DeacMan are messing with my Rocky analogies.

It says that people care about education. And Sesame Street, according to my google machine, operates at a loss. Which seems hard to believe.

Probably because it has minimal commercials by choice, and no prime-time cross-promotion network kickbacks. They would have all of the leverage in a network move. Done right, they could set their own guidelines to keep their core principals and format, and just switch stations.

I finally saw a political pundit that thinks Obama won...Juan Williams (no Fox News non the less)

The only way to salvage last night would be to run tens of millions of ads in FL, CO, IA, OH, VA and NC of Romney's statements during the debate versus his stump speeches.

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

You're contradicting yourself.

No. They go to the networks and demand that (a) they keep the same minimal commercial allotment as they have now, and (b) they keep all content decisions in-house. Because of the high viewership (especially for the time slots) the prices that they should be able to charge for the few commercial spots they have plus the network kickbacks for the prime time promotions (which they have none of on PBS) should make them profitable without sacrificing anything.

Romney said he didn't know there are laws that give tax benefits for moving jobs overseas. I guess Charlie Sheen has never done drugs.

He was for regulations of banks last night....

Obviously that's preposterous. But Juan did stump Coulter and Hannity today when he asked them to tell him one memorable thing that Romney said in the debate. They sputtered, and Juan said the only thing memorable was the Big Bird comment.

If I was to read 2 posts on the debate, one from each side of the aisle, which two posts in this thread should I read?

People give Arlington a lot of credit, but don't shortchange Ph. He's pretty good.

Why didn't Obama reference the video below when Romney said "I like coal"?

Actually I think this debate will be remembered in its entirety as a one sided win...something that rarely happens. Romney did not need that one memorable moment.
