Thursday's Debate: Discussion Thread

i honestly don't see that as being a big deal. once the stimulus funds were available, why wouldn't he try to get them for his constituents? it's not like the dollars he asked for were not going to get used if he hadn't asked for them.

Except Ryan lied and said he didn't request them. And there were, I believe, Congressman who decried the stimulus, as Ryan did, and stuck to their guns in not requesting funds.

So, since he's against abortions, would he help a constituent open an abortion clinic? It would bring jobs to his district.

okay, that's a different issue. i didn't realize he said that he had not requested them.

Ryan is so utterly full of shit. Stewart is right, these people live in an alternate universe called bullshit mountain. A

And Ryan's not even that good at it.

On multiple occasions, it's probably why Romney likes him so much. He has no problem lying out his ass on matters that can easily be fact checked.

Not only did he say he never requested them, he said he was not the kind of person who would do such a thing:

"Two years ago, during an interview on WBZ’s NewsRadio he was asked by a caller if he “accepted any money” into his district. Ryan said he did not.
“I’m not one [of those] people who votes for something then writes to the government to ask them to send us money. I did not request any stimulus money,” the congressman answered."

Unless of course your constituents are applying for grants and ask for your help in securing a grant, which case you do what your constiuents want.

I'm just surprised you didn't try to blame Obama for Ryan lying.

I don't know why there isn't an ad scrolling over the letter with that quote in the voice over.

How's the weather today on bullshit mountain? Dude, are you serious? He lied like a little bitch

Really? Sure you want to stick with that line of thought Clark?

I think 2016's VP Debate should be a reality show competition of what they are going to do if elected:

Walking the President's dog
See how they would act a funeral
See if they can stay awake during a Senate debate
Find a hiding place for their office

We could add a couple of events, but that should take up a ninety minute show.

Should neg rep you for this, but I won't. Biden oversaw the stimulus. Cheney ran the country from an undisclosed location (underground volcanic lair)

Biden comes off as an incredibly condescending prick. He makes Ryan look like he belongs at the kids table.

I kind of prefer the condescending prick to the slimy used car salesman of a Romney.

I dislike the fact that Biden makes it seem like he's being inconvenienced by having to address (sometimes) legitimate criticisms.
