I don’t have any inside knowledge of exactly what happened, but I recollect Odom knew full well that O’Kelly was not a PG. I recollect that O’Kelly demanded he be moved to point guard , as that was the only possible way he was going to get NBA interest.

One has to remember that Forbes worked for three of the all time sleazeball recruiters in Marshall , Gillespie, and Pearl— to his credit, and our recruiting woes, Forbes was smart enough to realize those tactics and academics likely would not fly at Wake. He’s no saint on the recruiting trail.

We’re essentially saying the same thing, but rather than a lack of chemistry, I would call it lack of on court leadership when things start to go south. This is compounded by Forbes disdain for calling timeouts during the implosions.
