ITT I have learned that MHB wants to prioritize restoring voting rights for the disenfranchised apparently so they can choose to not vote and help the Trumps of the world win. My dude is all over the place. Needs a breather - this is what I tell my kids when they lose their shit, MHB, might work - hold up five fingers and pretend they are candles on a birthday cake. Take a deep breath and blow them out one at a time. Go ahead, you try it!

Oh hey look, more shitposting

If you vote in #1, you're running to be in a party in power in #2 which gives you the power to do #3.

I can't believe this is a difficult concept for people, especially since we've seen it work. How do you think party shifts happen? People who aren't 100% on board get involved and shift the party toward their own politics. There isn't going to be a viable third party. It's not going to happen. I've never seen a viable end game for a 3rd party that wasn't just tilting the balance of an existing party.

An out-of-power party changes and chases votes like when the Dems went from Al Smith to FDR? I don't see how socialists helping a capitalist party win elections is supposed to make that party become socialist.

The only example I can think of for an in-power party radically changing is the 1828 election, but that's really a party schism in a one party system.

re-enfranchising felons seems low on the pole of importance unless it's a strategic move to get more votes

There are plenty. Perhaps if you could articulate a counter-argument, I could respond. That's how this works, right?

I guess, it's hard to figure out how to counter something that is not coherent. I (and others) have tried many times on these larger points with you and nothing seems to get through, unfortunately. That would make me insane to just do the same thing over and over again and hope for a different outcome.

This one?

I am paying attention to the effects of unchecked capitalism. It's why I'm a socialist. You are a liberal. It's why we disagree.

A Socialist Oligarchy is fundamentally the same animal as Crony Capitalism.

You would just change the name and leave the Boss intact. It is most notable in left wing sycophantism displayed toward the media Oligopoly of Facebook,Google,Twitter,Apple. These corporations purchase politicians through lobbyists pushing for legislation which favors greater centralized power among those who effectively already dominate the mediums of communication.

Just as another era needed a TR to bust the communication trusts of the early 20th Century we need an individual with the brass to break these Collectivist threats to the free commerce of ideas

That’s pretty basic ^

no, i legitimately think that re-enfranchisement is a low-priority for political capital expenditure

This is why the only true way the socialist utopia happens is with the bloody revolution that mdmh has advocated for but will never happen.
