OK, other than the handful of WF track athletes that are competing at the NCAA East Regionals, the WF sport year is essentially done.

Here is the recap:

Men's Soccer -- 3rd/9 in the ACC -- 11-4-5 overall; 4-1-3 in the ACC; 1st round exits in the ACC and NCAA tourneys
Women's Soccer -- 2nd/11 in the ACC -- 14-6-3; 6-3-1; lost in the ACC semis and 2nd round of the NCAAs
Football - 4th/6 in the Atlantic -- 5-7 overall; 3-5; no bowl; lost final 3 games to miss a bowl
Volleyball 10/12 in ACC -- 11-21; 5-15; no postseason
Men's Cross Country 7/11 in ACC; qualified for NCAA regional; failed to advance to NCAAs
Women's Cross Country 8/12 in ACC; qualified for NCAA regional; failed to advance to NCAAs
Field Hockey 5/6 in ACC; 9-11; 1-4; lost in ACC Semis; no NCAA tourney
Men's Basketball 10/12 in ACC; 12-18; 6-12; lost in ACC 1st round; no post-season
Women's Basketball 9(t)/12 in ACC; 5-13; 13-19; lost in ACC 2nd round;no post-season
Baseball 5/6 in Atlantic; 9-20; 28-27; failed to make ACC tourney; no post-season
Men's Golf 8/11 in ACC; made NCAA regionals failed to advance
Women's Golf 7/9 in ACC; made NCAA regionals failed to advance
Men's Tennis 3/11 in ACC; 20-9; 7-3; advanced to ACC final; lost to NC UVA; made NCAA tourney; lost in 1st round
Women's Tennis 11/12 in ACC 3-19; 2-9; lost in 1st round of ACC tourney no post season
Men's Track 10/12 in ACC; several individuals qualified for NCAA regionals
Women's Track 9/12 in ACC; several individuals qualified for NCAA regionals

WF combined record in all ACC contests: 48-85-4

ACC titles: 0
Finishes in top half of conference or division: 3 out of 16
NCAA appearances: 7 out of 14 (not counting track where a individuals rather than a team qualifies)
NCAA 1st round exits: 6 out of 7; the women's soccer team was the only WF team to advance a round in the NCAAs and they lost in round #2.
Highlight's: Men's tennis upset of #9 Duke in ACC Semis; Men's soccer 4-2 win over top ranked MD; Women's Soccer first ever win @ UNC; football win over UNC on final drive; men's basketball win over #2 Miami;
Lowlights: too many to mention, but the top few for me: the football program failure to show for the last 3 games; men's basketball winless on the ACC road; 7 of 9 ACC road losses by double digits; men's soccer first round NCAA exit at home to Coastal Carolina; field hockey team failing to make the NCAAs; the once proud men's golf team extending the streak to 24 consecutive seasons without winning an ACC title.

All in all; not too good. By any definition, not historically competitive.

didn't we come up somewhat close vs virigina in the acc tournament? Impressive they ended up winning the NC.

Good lord, Wake Forest should never ever ever ever be 7th out of 9 in ACC golf.

Great recap. Men's Tennis and Women's Soccer with the best year. Overall, a good summary on why it is time for Wellman to call it quits after this year. While Wellman has done a great job on the athletic facilities at WFU, his choice of coaches have been pretty weak.

Tied for 111th in the Director's Cup standings with the following schools:

Arkansas State
Dayton
St. Louis
South Florida
VCU
Western Kentucky

We're two spots below Fairleigh Dickinson.

Nice job recapping everything. Quick note: Men's soccer lost in their first NCAAT game, but not in the first round. They had a bye to the r32.

Incredibly weak; WellmanOut!!!!

Great recap! At this point, it's too painful to watch almost any WFU sporting event. I'm still going to give it a try in football.

Men's tennis had a great year and seems to be on the right track. Because of this, I spent the money set aside for football tickets on a membership to the indoor tennis center. I have no problem helping the tennis program and I can find other ways into the football stadium for games.
