2014 GRAND SLAM CONTEST - oldschooldeac wins PGA; deacman5 wins GRAND SLAM

Deacman5 won the overall. He was 16 spots back entering the PGA but I finished 23rd and he finished 5th to clip me by two spots (we both had five guys miss the cut).

Brutal.
 
That's freaking unbelievable that Ricky's lip out on 18 in the dark was worth +3 points, which dropped my Dad from 1st to 4th.

His team of Rory (1st), Ricky (3rd), Furyk (5th), Stricker & Dubuisson (both in 7th).

If you actually include the best 4 rounds of each player that made the cut --- Stricker's 2nd & 3rd round scores, with Furyk's 1st & 4th round scores (along with Rory, Ricky & Dubuisson's scores), then his score was -57 & -6 Bonus for a Total of -63.

I was going back and forth for 90 points with GMac & Leishman and Stenson & Walker. I chose poorly.
 
Awesome...can't believe my "old guy" squad of Phil, Furyk and Els (along with Rory of course) came through. Lots of luck to end up with the most points, but adds a lot of fun to the majors. Thanks to Sleepy for running this. Look forward to doing this again next year.

Scoring Methodology:
As in golf, the lower the score, the better.

Base score: For each event, it is the place you finished in. For teams that missed the cut, all of them tied for last place among entrants (i.e 46 for The Masters since 45 teams made the cut). For people that did not submit a team for that event, their base score is tied for "last place" (i.e 83 for The Masters since 82 teams entered).

Cut Adjusment: Negative one point for each of the 6 golfers that made the cut.

So, the best theoretical score for each event is -5 (1 point for placing first, and -6 if all six golfers made the cut).

Shout out to TWDeac who had only one player miss the cut in total over the 4 majors. After Augusta, I think I was the only other to join him at 18 for 18 the rest of the way. In light of the weighted selection system, his record is at least as impressive as those who rode Rory and Rickie to a top 5 overall finish.
 
Thanks Sleepy for an awesome game. I totally blew it this weekend outside of Rory and Rickie, but at least feel good that I picked the champion three out of four tournaments.
 
I actually had five guys make the cut this week Sleepy, but it doesn't matter haha.
