2020 Democratic Presidential Primary

Trump is attacking Bloomberg. He has attacked Warren and Biden. He has dismissed Pete in tweets. But hands off Bernie.

Several people have responded that it is possibly a strategy to divide the Democratic party and sew distrust in the nominating process. So there is at least one other legitimate ex platoon for Trumps actions wrt Bernie.

Why haven’t you directly addressed my question? Why specifically do you predict Bernie will lose badly to Trump, despite Bernie’s appeal to blue collar rust belt voters? I just don’t get that prediction, because I think on a state by state examination, Bernie does fine against Trump, so please explain why you and all those news papers think he will lose so badly.
 
Because I don't believe blue collar workers in PA, MI and other states will vote for a socialist. This is especially true with a billion dollars being spent telling them to worry about their jobs, their insurance and more. Blue collar workers don't like socialism and Bernie will be painted as a commie as well.

Trump hasn't touched Bernie yet. He will go balls to the walls about Bernie being a socialist, his age, his health, jobs and more. Trump is rope-a-doping Bernie. It's obvious to tons of people.

Trump is doing to Bernie what Claire McCaskill did to her last losing opponent.

Bernie is by far the weakest national candidate.

Don’t incumbents usually fair well during this phase of the opposing party primary? The incumbent looks strong compared to a “party in disarray.”
 
Fair enough. You have a belief that blue collar workers won’t support the guy because he self identifies as a democratic socialist. It’s a belief though, not a certainty.

Hillary was a big union supporter, but they voted for Trump.

I don't think any open minded person can say that Bernie doesn't have more easy targets for Trump to exploit than any other major Dem candidate.
 
I still haven't gotten an answer as why Trump is treating Bernie so well while he's even been attacking people who have worked for him.

You can't say Bernie doesn't have things that would be easy for Trump to attack via tweets.

I know you guys don't want to admit it, but why is Trump is being so nice to Bernie unless he's convinced that he'd beat Bernie badly.

How many times do I have to say I oppose Bloomberg before it gets through your head?

The only use I have for Bloomberg is his money in Senate and other campaigns. It can legitimately argued that the $100M+ Bloomberg gave Emily's List to promote female House candidates was a cornerstone in winning the House.

But you'd rather be pure and have Moscow Mitch in charge of the Senate for two more years than take Bloomberg's money. How is that working out so far?

and it certainly may turn out to be the case that Trump smokes Bernie in the general election, but I doubt it

everyone saying Trump crushes Bernie, please show your work because the polls do not support this
