2023 Tennis Thread

Tsistipas has the game to beat Djokovic, but it's hard to imagine him winning given the way Djokovic has been playing.
The mental part of getting that first one is always very difficult and he’ll no doubt have that French Open meltdown on his mind no matter what he says publicly. One of these young guys is going to have to get it done eventually.

For sure. To take Yogi Berra's saying to a different sport, "Tennis is 90% mental. The other half is physical."

Total garbage and damaging to US Tennis to not allow Djokovic to play US Tournaments this spring.

Nah. He’s been a child about the whole vaccination thing and wants to make a big ordeal over how persecuted he is because of it. We can’t just be like oh well he’s Novak Djokovic so the rules just don’t apply to him.

but why is it a rule now? do you think his participation would affect anyone’s health?

I don’t like Djok, but at this point the rule is silly

agree with this, has nothing to do with whether you like the guy, he's one of the greatest tennis players in recent times and not allowed to play for a stupid reason. Makes the sport and the US look small.
