2024 Wake Baseball Thread: What Did We Do To Deserve This?

I have 2 GA tickets for Sunday I can’t use now due to some Easter plans. Think they are $15-20 per ticket at the gate, so I would be happy to pass along for face value or whatever somebody thinks is fair. Go Deacs! Huge series…

The minor league season is about the start and rosters are getting announced.

So, far the following 2023 Deacs will be starting the 2024 season with these teams:

Brock Wilken (Brewers): Biloxi Shuckers AA
Rhett Lowder (Reds): Dayton Dragon High A
Sean Sullivan (Rockies): Fresno Grizzlies: Single A
Seth Keener (White Sox): Kannapolis Cannon Ballers: Single A
Bennett Lee (Tigers): Lakeland Flying Tigers: Single A
Cam Minacci (Angels): Inland Empire 66ers: Single A
Justin Johnson (Royals): Quad Cities River Bandits: Single A

Teddy McGraw, Tommy Hawke and Pierce Bennett have yet to be assigned.

Other active Deacs:

Eric Adler (White Sox): Winston-Salem Dash; High A
Michael Turconi (Jays): New Hampshite Fisher Cats: Double A
Ryan Cusick (A's) Las Vegas Aviators: Triple A
William Fleming (Royals) NW Arkansas Naturals: Double A
Colin Peluse (A's) Las Vegas Aviators: Triple A
Bobby Seymour (Rays): Montgomery Biscuits: Double A
Antonio Menendez (Rays): Montgomery Biscuits: Double A
Jared Shuster (White Sox): Charlotte Knights: Triple A
Parker Dunshee (Braves): Gwinnett Stripers: Triple A

Stuart Fairchild (Reds) and Gavin Sheets (White Sox) made the MLB active roster to start the 2024 season.

I have 2 tickets for tonight's game against UNC that I will not be able to use. Section 6 row L. Free to a good home. The only requirement is that you pay it forward by doing something nice for someone else.

PM me if interested. First come, first served.

Did not realize Dunshee was with the Braves now. He’s gotta be in a make it or break it situation.

Thought Dunshee would make it with the A's; he did not. You never know, but think that he's just a AAA innings eater at this point. He's 29; so, he's not a prospect any more. Older guys have MLB debuted, but not many.

Think Hawke is starting because it's a former team thing? I figured he had been pushed to the bench.

Playing platoon matchups since UNC has a lefty starter, and I don't think the coaches want to totally give up on Hawke just yet. But will be interesting to see what happens when we get into Holes bullpen.

Some combination of lefty pitcher and former team. I was expecting Nelson to be in for defense.

How did tellier get a hit and Houston Not advance a base?
