ACC Games in Europe?

We would definitely be top of the list to "host" a home game in London against ND or something though.

I know that's how it works in the NFL but that brand can sell itself a lot easier than the ACC. You'd probably need a fairly marquee matchup ... or something like BC-Notre Dame in Dublin ... to get people interested

Help me understand the upside to this, from Wake's perspective.

With Wake's horrible decline in attendance, fewer fans will be disappointed losing a home game.

There is a chance that [Redacted] loses his passport and is stuck in England.

A higher chance that DV7 is able to incite a massive riot to fulfill his "winter is coming" prophecy from last season.

Wake gets to experience what MD teams will feel like playing in the Big Ten.

Grobe and Lobo already practice a strict rule of kicking or punting whenever possible so the team could attract a lot of fans in the football-driven European continent.

Hopefully basketball games are played at prime time in Europe to avoid accidentally ruining your evening by stumbling upon [Redacted]'s wonderful coaching on television.

Round up the hooligans, DV7.

You're allowed an extra game if you play in Europe so we wouldn't be losing a home game. So we would play 13 football games those years. In other words, we might get to play UNC in London in a year we otherwise wouldn't be playing them at all.

Couldn't hurt our basketball program to play a few games in Lithuania against an alumni team with Darius and Vytas or Spain against Peral and Videretta.

One of the benefits would be the money ESPN would pay to televise these events. If ESPN isn't interested then they would provide a bit of extra content for the coming ACC network.

Swofford is hoping in an ideal scenario to build a European Audience for the ACC Digital network.

I'm not sure hope is strong enough of a word.

LOL at the "bz to kazakhstan" tag. Other than Notre Dame in Dublin, are there any schools that would generate widespread interest? ACC teams don't have any kind of tv presence over there do they?

You might get Cambridge kids to confuse UNC for their team.

By February, we might draw more people in Andorra than at the Joel.

No to "widespread interest" part
