Nathan and Julie Hatch and The WFU Trustees have sent out a formal invitation for cocktails and dinner denoted in the Title to this thread to certain invitees. It is to be held on Friday October 11,2019 at the Sutton Center, Lowden Family Court beginning at 6;30p.m. As much as many of the posters here hate the Premier, our President and Trustees still shower their love on him. OK...who got an invite and are you going?

It's bullshit that Manning and [Redacted] aren't paying for this out of their own millions upon millions Wellman helped them steal from Wake.

It's depressing to think that there is some combination of members on these very OGBoards whose collective Deacon Club contribution total was just enough to cover the cost of this honorary event.

Then again, I'm sure many here would have willingly contributed to his retirement party on the condition that he actually retire.

If this is the last time we see his name in a communication coming from the school, it's enough of a reason to celebrate.
 
There will be something named after him at Wake eventually, like it or not. It’s going to generate money for Wake. That’s ok. He can’t hurt you anymore.

Yep, they will robably rename the Joel after him. Maybe call it the Wellman Mausoleum.
