ATLANTA IS NOW OFFICIALLY A GIANT HELL HOLE

shit is fucked. Took an hour to get to work today (normally 10 mins), prolly longer to get home & I dont even normally go over that section on my route.

 
something similar happened in harrisburg a few years ago when a truck carrying gasoline crashed on an overpass and blew up. wild

with that one square out it looks like SimCity

Its gonna take a loooooong time to fix. It would help a lot if the inspectors can get in there and at least open (i) the southbound lanes of 85 and (ii) the BuHi connector (the smaller lower interstate you see next to the collapse) which are both closed I am guessing bc they are making sure they are still structually sound.

Somebody betta get fired tho. The DOT was basically using the space under the interstate to store first responder trucks, and all sorts of flammable materials. There were a decent amount of homeless bros that sleep there too. Dollars to donuts says some homeless bro flicked a ciggie into some building materials and poof no interstate.
 
My genius wife bought movie tickets at the damn theater by the new Braves stadium. So now I get to fight the bullshit traffic from the downed highway all the way to the traffic for the FIRST FUCKING BRAVES GAME. Just fucking shoot me now.
 
I think they already said southbound is a no go as well and it too will need to be replaced because of poor integrity related to the Fire. How long do you think it will take for them to change traffic light times and patterns to address the new flow of traffic, immediately, a few days, a few weeks, or most likely never.
