Banning Critical Race Theory

This is not at all what "critical" means in this context.

(Perhaps it's *you* who doesn't understand the argument.)

Fine but there's no reason to race to a conclusion either and cram it down our kids' throats!

Like I said, you’re just following the Rufo/Republican playbook, lazily rehashing the same “all lives matter” rhetoric. Could you be any more predictable with the “I agree with *some* parts of CRT, but I just don’t like how it’s being applied” how fucking convenient that conservatives acknowledge the problems, but never support the solutions. “Short arms and deep pockets”

I suppose I could be as predictable as you are: "If you don't agree with *all* parts of my ideas, I spiral into outrage." Sounds like a great approach to life. I'm sure it's going great for you.

Hey guys! The school library is getting a little unbalanced. It's time to cull a bunch of books written by people of color!

What you are reading is flippant incredulity, not outrage.

Who's spiraling into outrage besides a bunch of white people who want to ban teaching the truth to their own kids? Last time I checked the outrage was you people.

No examples still

“It’s not a lie if you believe it”

jh reframed the entire debate in his own mind in a way that doesn’t line up anywhere near reality but just happens to make him (and his party) the hero.
He's the king of rationalization for goodness sakes he convinced himself that Donald Trump wasn't the leader of the Republican party. In that way he could not hold republicans accountable for anything. Is sadly this group delusion is very effective electorally because they present a united front of rationalization.

Black college student endures racist and homophobic slurs because he *checks notes* was interested in pledging Kappa Sig.

"I have dealt with racism (and) hazing, and I've witnessed homophobic slurs. And that's not something that I personally stand for," he said.

Van Hook said since March, he's been the target of those incidents by members of a fraternity at the university.

"I've been told all African Americans live on welfare and just off government assistance. I've been called the n-word. (I've also faced) hazing ... I was pulled on, pushed around in the dark woods," Van Hook said.

University officials also said since becoming aware of the incident, campus police provided police escorts for Van Hook and issued a no-contact order between him and all members of the fraternity.

Im a little behind on this thread. Hit me with three, four sentences with examples. You can do it, man

Gas is $4.00 a gallon, inflation is at a 30 year high, your party fought to keep the schools closed for six months after the rest of society re-opened yet you guys insist you lost the Virginia governor's race because of racism (spoiler: it's ALWAYS racism).

Maybe try getting the present right before claiming a monopoly of the truth of the past.

Lol, he says he's not predictable and then posts again about gas prices on a CRT thread because he also had no idea what CRT actually is. Fucking donk.

Gas prices and school closures are not examples of crt.

I actually agree that inflation and continued supply/shortage issues, combined with the lingering effects of the pandemic, have hurt Biden's popularity and that of Democrats generally. Having said that, closing schools was the right thing to do based on the medical evidence and recommendations (schools were closed for a good while during the Spanish flu pandemic at the end of World War One, so it's hardly unprecedented), and as you and Shoo pointed out none of this has anything to do with CRT. Also, it's strange at how, now that the elections are over, Fox isn't talking very much about CRT anymore. It's almost like they don't really think it's a crisis issue in our schools anymore.

Sure, neither are example of critical race theory’s falsities that Wakenbake has repeatedly asked for and wokenbroke can’t seem to provide. It is typical Republican political discourse to rant and rave about a problem and when asked for specifics about that problem they change the subject to another problem. Conservatism is a grievance based political movement with no substance or solutions of any kind expect to cut taxes while spending more and more money on military stuff (which, by the way is a major factor in creating inflation).

and who is "building a complicated history around a single theme?"

also, what "important things" are likely to be missed? can you give an example of one or two please?

Shoo,

In response to a specific, repeated question about what issues get missed when people overemphasize race, I pointed three examples of more pressing issues for people while your party continues to focus on the issue of race.

You then countered with the fact that I'm not sharing your tunnel vision on race. Amazing.

When a Republican is asked about CRT

If your party's leadership shares the agreed-upon opinion of the nimble minds of the Tunnels Left, namely that their fellow Americans are looking for their elected leaders to talk about the issue of race *more*, next November is going to be even worse than I thought for you guys. I can't wait to see who's "fault" your next catastrophic failures are going to be (spoiler: it will be other people's racism. Again.).
