Basketball Recruiting Megathread 1.0 has run its course

:werd:

Sounds good to me.

I'm pretty sure a school official just cannot make a public comment (i.e. via media) about a recruit before they sign. It is to prevent a coach from going on ESPN and saying "we really want Johnny Recruit". If a school official talks about a recruit to a neighbor, or even a booster, it's not a violation. I'm pretty sure coaches can even talk about recruits to a group of people (e.g. alumni gathering), as long as it is a "private" conversation.

It's a fairly common violation for which schools self-punish themselves with a wrist slap, which the NCAA then rubber stamps. Might lose a recruiting visit or a couple of phone calls.

R. Carter may favor GaT over Fla. and A.Jefferson likes NCSt. Good gets for the ACC if they happen.

Nice catch:

Jeff [Redacted] looked into the future and saw the maturation process of point guard Codi Miller-McIntyre (Charlotte, N.C./Hargrave Military Academy) before anyone else caught on. The Demon Deacons sprinted out in front with Miller-McIntyre and accepted a commitment from him before most of their ACC brethren figured out who he was. In June, he was a breakout performer at the NBPA Top 100 Camp. Flanking Miller-McIntrye are two tall guys for their position. Andre Washington (Roanoke, Va./Catholic) is a long-range prospect for [Redacted] who will be swiftly escorted to the weight room in Winston-Salem. Aaron Rountree (Wilson, N.C./Greenfield) is cut from the Julian Wright mold of forwards. Not a scorer, but a facilitator and passer with excellent size, Rountree is the second in-stater Wake landed in the class.

Wake now ranked 14th. The ESPN Inside blurb hasn't changed.

We were ranked 12 a week ago, and not top 15 a month ago.

NC State jumped from not top 15 to #2 after getting a commit from Purvis. Michigan also jumped from out of the top 15 to #5 after getting a commit from Mitch McGary.

As HS basketball season approaches, should we put all the stats from our 6 commits in this thread or start another one for those purposes?

Hey TITSWF do you know if the guys that are still in HS but good enough to play on the Hargrave post-grad team actually get to play against the college teams they have on the schedule? And are those the actual varsity college teams or like the walk-ons? I don't really know how all that works.

I like the fact Andre has had a couple of double doubles already.

Yea, it looks like Andre is having a really good season so far. It cant hurt that he goes against Montrel every practice.

I'm not exactly sure how Hargrave manages their varsity and post-grad teams and whether or not there is ever any crossover. The college teams on their schedule are likely the JV teams for those colleges though.

Yeah, Hampden Sydney is no slouch of a D III program. Can't imagine their varsity team getting crushed like that. I would expect them to be competitive.

I have seen confirmation that Tree, CMM, Washington and Moto are signing today. I believe Devin and Cav are signing, just haven't seen the confirmation.
