BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

Wendell Moore visiting South Carolina on saturday.

Any momentum we had in 19 recruiting is basically gone. My source doesnt like our chances with any top guys.

This is the real tragedy of the season from a program standpoint. Guess we will find out if Manning can still make it happen one way or another. It does seem the trend is for top players to view their choice as a "business decision" more than anything else. We can't sell the "Nike/Duke will take care of you for life ratface pitch" but Manning clearly develops big men. There is some revisionist history on here, but the difference in Doral this year is remarkable.

Wendell Moore has probably been going to UNC the whole time though, right?

The nice thing about Roy compared to K is he doesn't have guys transfer out to make room. Given UNC's current scholarship situation it has to be Josh Nickelberry OR Wendell Moore. Not room for both. Whichever one UNC doesn't get could easily end up here. Im betting Duke ends up with Bryan Antoine and Scotty Lewis, so they will be full at the 2/3 as well.

I guess the word is out that K is about to retire and these recruits want to get in on that sweet sweet Nike action before Nike changes their terms.

Anybody know how Wright is doing this year?

Solid, playing good all around basketball. Averaging around 15ppg, 6.5rpg and 4 apg. Poor shooter from 3 at 28% and around 65% on ft's, also plays decent defense and gets lots of steals. He is very quick so if Manning (or whoever) can convince him to attack the basket and not try to shoot a bunch of 3's (which he is not good at) could help us

Great. We have recruited a 28% three point shooter.

Some predicted Wright might be 6'8 by the time he arrives on campus. Has he grown?

I talked to Sharone Sr. recently and he said Sharone Jr is at 6’5 1/2 at the moment and should grow a little bit more. Could end up anywhere between his current height and 6’8. He chose Wake because he can play PG (which would probably best suit his skill set - lack of shooting, good ball handling, quick first step, driving) and SG, so he could see time at the 1-3. If he could keep his current skill set and run the point at 6’7 ish that’d be insane.
