This is good to hear. Wake basketball alums can be helpful in many ways. I like that he wants them involved.
 
They are no better brand ambassadors for a school than it's successful star professional athletes. Just as in any other field, you want the best you've produced out there front and center, 100% checked in and engaged. The Big Boys in D-1 know this. Wellman didn't...
Or, if he *DID*, he sure didn't seem to care.
Jesus, all the lost opportunities from the Timmy D Era onwards.

This morning Forbes had a Zoom call with Wake bball alumni (players, staff). It was very positive and well attended. He wants everyone with a history of Wake to be involved. Coach talked about how he got to Wake, who he coached with and under and what he learned from each.

He said wins will fix all that ails us.

Regarding recruiting, he said this was his focus and he wouldn't back down from anyone in recruiting. Wake will be super-involved in NC and regional recruiting and finding national players on top of this.

He also gave Chill huge props for keeping the players who re-upped.

Coach Forbes also said people should get used to seeing him in the community as he and his family will be a part of it.

It was high energy, very positive.

This guy loves being at Wake and wants to take it right at UNC and Duke.

You don't think a lot of us are in touch with past players and coaches? Wake is a small school and Winston is a small community. Please keep this kind of stuff off here, please. Thanks.

He looks like a late, fast riser. Rivals has him leaning to Xavier. However, as he moves up the rankings, he may widen his options.

Attends DeMatha HS near DC. One of the best high schools for basketball in the country. DeMatha continues to produce high D-1 basketball talent even after the late Morgan Wooten retired.
 
Over on the FB recruiting thread, one of the recent O-line commits mentioned how important his conversations with current and past players were important positives in helping him commit to Wake.

So it is really good to hear Forbes reaching out to former players. The more eyes and ears out there the better. You never know who is going to be Chris King seeing a former swimmer playing pickup basketball.
