cookout = blabbermouth?
Russian River makes some OUTSTANDING stuff. And I love Lagunitas. Lagunitas Sucks is spectacular.
What are the top Oregon beers that are widely available around here?
Pisgah
Asheville is easily a top 5 beer city.
Michigan is likely a top 5 just with Bells, Founders and Jolly Pumpkin - Founders possibly my favorite beers overall.
Top 6, in some order, California, Oregon, Colorado, New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania. Cali is likely #1 - Russian River, Bruery, 21st, Firestone Walker and Lagunitas just off the top of my head.
Maryland, NC, Florida are in the next tier. Probably some I am missing.
Florida is not on the same level as NC. Get that shit outta here.
Do you get any Boneyard (from Bend, OR) in SF? If you see it you should give it a try. They make some world-class stuff, but it is extremely difficult to find outside of the pacific NW. The Suge Knight Imperial Stout is the best beer I've ever had.

Cigar City is pretty legit, other than that, meh
phan, have you been to the Rogue bar in SF?

For me its lack of access - outside of Duck Rabbit, I never see anything else - and I am not all that thrilled with that. Foothills is good when I go back to Winston (rarely-ish) or some of the Asheville stuff when I visit my people, but there is limited access to it outside of NC - so me putting it in that tier is only based on what i get the 1 time I go back to NC each year.
the thing with cali is there is just so much quality. widely distributed cali beers that are great: lagunitas, firestone, anderson valley, 21st amendment, sierra nevada, north coast, bruery, bear republic, stone, and green flash. those are all beers you can find pretty much nationwide. shit's cray.
Racer 5 is one of my faves. anyone had the Racer X?
this is my current jam:
