Best College Basketball Players by Uniform Number

Rodney was great, but as a college player Benson and Marques Johnson were much better. Howard Porter and Rodney were about even.

Agree re: Benson and Johnson. Horace Grant and Ed Pinkney are the ones I question over RR.

Pickney was better in college than Grant and he won a NC.

The biggest myth in NCAAT history is that Nova's victory over G'town was an upset of historic level. During the season, the teams played twice. One game went into OT. The other wasn't decided with less than a minute to go. It was logical to think G'town was slightly better but not the wide margin that so many have portrayed.

Anyone know why this is the case? Seems like a weird rule. Is it so refs can hand-gesture the number of the player who gets called with a foul?

"Thanks to the NCAA rule book, players have only 37 options when it comes to choosing a jersey number. Any single-digit rendering or double-digit combination of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 is acceptable. Conversely, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are prohibited."

Josh Howard should've been in the honorable mention list for #5. Fight me.

Didn't see Jack 'the shot' Foley early 60's AA at Holy Cross or Calvin Murphy AA from Niagara early 70's....
