Lack of institutional control
It cool when the team is goodIs Wake a school of dorks now? When I was there, no remotely cool fucker would seriously entertain attending anything like this.
One goal, two goals, who cares. Dorkfest in a tiny gym.
Good news from 81Deac on TOB. Also helps explain why we didn't need to worry about having two working baskets.
"Harry was not expected to be there, fine with coaches and everyone, don't make anything of it. We aren't trying to compete with what UK does so no big deal."
I love both schools, but Wake is my home, and im glad that Giles didnt go from Madness at UK to that halfcourt amateur hour shit. Wake has many many advantages over big state schools like UK, but pep rally type events are definitely not one of them.Like attracting top recruits and winning?
Except that loads of non-revenue sports have their locker facilities there -- cross country, track, soccer, tennis -- and *all* of the non-revenue equipment facilities are there. We are in the process of completely renovating that entire building. I would hardly describe Reynolds as an Athletic building though. Varsity Gym is though because of VB.
So did they just do some three point shooting and dunking competitions on a half court? Is that it?

After several dance routines, the girls' team layup/shooting lines, the bowl lady, the men's team did layup and shooting lines and some half-assed "skills" competition seemingly featuring more walkons than scholarship players.
A cone-dribbling thing, a "big-man" dunk contest (JC, Dre, Doral) and three-point contest (Hudson, Woods, Wilbekin, Dinos, Van Horn - Wilbekin won)
Hope that helps
That's awful.
We own the Joel now, why not have it there?
We own the Joel now, why not have it there? Use the light show, crank up the Harley and put on a show for anyone that wants to come. Having it in basically a high school gym is small time.
The Joel would feel absolutely cavernous for this event. We would almost never draw more than a few thousand people. Ever been to a WBB game there? It's not exactly electric. Then there would be plenty of posts about how small time we are with a tiny crowd.
