Bracketology 2017

I know it is irrelevant as there are games still to be played, but don't understand how someone could leave WF out if season ended today.

super stoked for this game. need a big day from collins and have to get VT in foul trouble early.

Just in case we don't win -- or even if we do and want to avoid Dayton -- here's today's bubble guide. Some of them (Georgia, Ole Miss, UT-Arlington) aren't as big as others, but tons of yuge ones:

Rutgers (+4 1/2) to win vs. Illinois
St. John's (+1) to win vs. Providence
Texas Tech (+3 1/2) to win @ Kansas State
Arkansas (-6 1/2) to win vs. Georgia -- Hogs prolly would be a bubble team with an L, but in the worst-case scenario of us only beating BC the rest of the way, kinda doubt we get a bid over them. Let's just get UGa out of the picture completely
Florida (-3 1/2) to win @ Vandy
Colorado (-2 1/2) to win vs. Cal
George Mason (+12) to win @ VCU
DePaul (+6 1/2) to win vs. Xavier
Butler (-8 1/2) to win vs. Seton Hall
Creighton (+4) to win @ Marquette
Southern Illinois (+8) to win vs. Illinois State in MVC semis
Syracuse (-8 1/2) to win vs. GT -- again, if we lose I don't think we want both these teams finishing ahead of us in the conference standings
Davidson (+7 1/2) to win @ Rhode Island
FAU (+16) to win @ MTSU
Washington (+15 1/2) to win @ USC
UL-Lafayette (+ 1 1/2) to win vs. UT-Arlington -- just so the committee doesn't get any weird ideas
South Carolina (-2 1/2) to win @ Ole Miss

Syracuse has a really bad RPI of 77 and a SOR of 53 so one would have to think they are really out if they lose tomorrow. Georgia Tech on the other hand is 93 on the RPI and 55 on the SOR. Neither one are very good and not worthy of entry on their own merits. They would be getting in just based on the Atlantic Coast Conference being great this season and the rest of the basketball world being bad.

Also given the merits of two straight Wake Forest losses if it were to happen one might imagine a home court NIT game for the Deacons given that Joe Lunardi has us as a First Four In at this point there is no room for any error. In fact there is not any room for error for many of us. Look at Xavier now also

You're crazy if you don't think Syracuse is getting in. Their RPI and SOR could be 100+, but with their big-time wins, national/NYC brand, and performance in last year's tourney, they are getting in even if they lose the rest of their games.

It's outrageous that Vandy can possibly be in with 15+ losses before The Dance starts without winning a conference tourney.

If you play the #2 strength of schedule, many of your losses will be forgiven

Anyone catch Greenberg, Bills and J will talking about the Deacs? Bilas was giving us the most respect. Williams And Greenberg made it clear they don't think we are deserving, yet. Greenberg prolly has sour grapes from being left out so often.

Agreed. We should put in TVH and have him pull some Patrick Davidson shit on Seth Allen as well. No holds barred in this game. We need the win.

Which one are we?

Jay Williams and Greenberg had Wake out. Obviously, Set knows what it takes to miss the field, but BiLas slammed the door, asking skeptically, "Do you think Illinois State is better than Wake Forest?" Nobody was that brave. Then Bias said, "This is about who's better, and Wake Forest is better." No rebuttal.

Greenberg is s total douche. He scheduled home and home with Little sisters of the Poor and cried when he didn't get in. All he had to have done to have made $15M+ over the past decade was do what every D1 coach (with a brain) would have done without thinking twice- give the son of the school's greatest player ever a scholarship.

Weird. If you we're going to continue to use the RPI, then its time to accept that Wake has zero bad losses. Illinois State has two losses to sub-100 teams. They also have a loss to #89 San Francisco.

Wake's best win is also far better than Illinois State's best win.

If Xavier loses in the first round of the BE Tournament, they should be out. That would mean they will have been 1-7 or 0-8 in their last eight games. You have no business in The Dance finishing like that.

Regarding Syracuse:

You're crazy if you think they'd get in with 100+

The committee is crazy to let them in at 75+ but I wouldn't put it past them.
