Can Coach Jeffrey [Redacted] Turn This Thing Around?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think so, he knows now that his goal should be winning, and he spoke to other successful coaches alot. Should be all a bright guy needs to fly, and he's clean cut so he's probably wicked smart.

What does turning it around mean?

The problem is that the damage to the program has been so extensive and expectations so diminished that turning it around now, would have been a disappointment at any time over the last 20 years. So, if WF has winning record of each of the next 4 years, makes the NIT three times and the NCAA's once, is that turning it around?

Lets say that happens. 2013-14 - WF goes 17-14 (7-11 ACC), and wins a game in the NIT; 2014-5 19-13 (8-10 ACC) wins a couple of games in the NIT; 2015-6 21-11 (10-8 ACC) loses in the 1st round of the NCAA; 2016-7 19-12 (8-10 ACC) NIT again. At that point, Bz is 66. Then, what? Rusty? Chill?

I just don't see a plan that results in greatness for WF basketball. The best case for the "plan" is slow rise to mediocrity which even if it goes better than all reasonable expectations still ends up with a new coach in the next 4-5 years. WF basketball is just adrift and looks to be adrift for many years to come. Sad.

If we fire him this year and get a real coach, we can recover relatively quickly because we have a few good players in place. That should not detract from the sad truth that what Wellman has done defies all logic. He has to go.

Old Buzzy is on the march...Lord knows there are going to be sandwiches served up in troughs -- even more difficult to devour than the hand tool leather served up by Aramark. Some of the "hardest to swallow crow" ever known to man and fan alike is set to be served...and like all good revenge...Buzzy will be serving them ice cold.

It will be painful to watch...many will try and hang on through the extended winning streaks...but one by one their drained carcasses will be forced to find sustenance at Buzzy's teat.

Cold cuts... Old cuts...Old,Gold and Cold Cuts...a banquet fit for the dwarves who will dine in due time...

A new coach would have decent experienced players and lots of scholarships to offer. That gives me hope for a quick turnaround.

Bzz has showed us nothing over three years, other than that Adam's Apple that ate Winston.
