Stayed at the Royal in Cancun last year. With an upgraded room with a ridiculous view we kept it under $2k for 4 days including airfare, and it's an all-inclusive that actually has good food.

There are certainly much nicer places out there, but value-wise I can't imagine doing much better. It helped that AmEx was running a 15% off deal randomly, and it was on top of a travelocity deal.

Thanks for all the recommendations. We would prefer somewhere without kids so that rules out Atlantis and Disney.

Went to Soggy Dollar Bar on my honeymoon for a day trip from Caneel. That place is pretty awesome.

Anyone have thoughts on Bermuda? We are going in April. It will likely be a little on the cooler side, but anyone have recommendations of things to do or see?

Grande Velas resort - Riviera Maya south of Cancun. It has an adult side of the resort and the food and service were really top notch!!

Can vouch for this one. Definitely upgrade the room and stay on the adult side with an ocean view. Food was great. Not just great for an all-inclusive, but legitimately great.
