here's my counterargument: New Jersey was actually one of the most socialist places according to metrics you can look up for yourself.

but the point is that he did not choose the USSR, whose avowed purpose was building socialism, instead, he chose free-market capitalism, which is pretty much what most salon socialists do; they fantasize about the beauties of imaginary socialism while enjoying the benefits of real capitalism

if they have the choice to go and live in a country actually building socialism, they chose to live under capitalism and hallucinate about theoretical socialism

Climate change is having a significant impact on precipitation patterns through out the Caribbean and Central America and it is having increasingly concerning geopolitical effects.

Any one who is still a climate denier/skeptic is a fucking dumbass.
 
That fact that you care about the climate and environment and you go to Central America shows you don't believe there is climate change affecting that area. [Sailor]

The fact that the WokeBoreds and Angus' of the world can't understand that Democratic Socialism looks nothing like what's been happening in Cuba for the last sixty years, reminds us of how small and diseased their brains are.

Also do you know why Castro turned to the Soviet Union and doubled down on authoritarianism? Because we rejected him, after he overthrew a wildly corrupt and brutal dictator. A dictator that we installed and assisted. Just like the dozens of similar murderous "pro-West" monarchs and dictators we backed during the 20th century.

To ignore all of that and say Cuba = socialism is so fucking ignorant that I can't even pretend to respect you as a human being.

No I didn’t

I just said we’re partially to blame for Cuba pivoting into a dictatorship that under Castro. We starved them economically and had his government living in constant fear of being overthrown via a US coup or invasion.

He and his entourage did plenty of despicable shit on their own later on, but if we had embraced his noble overthrow of Batista and owned up to our mistake in backing that tyrant, Cuba would be an ally and had never turned to the USSR for support and become Communist. He came to us first.
