Cicadas: Brood II

My last house in south Forsyth had cicadas 3 out of 7 years. I don't know if construction rumblings screwed up their cycles or what. Haven't seen any of this wave yet.
 
What everyone must understand is that this is the year of the 17 year red eyed cicada. This is what will make this year exceptionally bad. Cicadas come out every year all over the world. It is this red eye lot that only comes out every 17 only on the east coast.

Exactly. Most species are on a 2-3 year cycles and they overlap with each other. Here's more info on the 13 and 17 year Cicadas and what years to expect them in various areas:

The 2004 brood in DC was insane. The distinct crunch of stepping on the carcasses after they all died while walking down the street is still strong in my memory.
