Overall, a sloppy game versus a not that good opponent. Definitely have some things to improve upon.
Hopefully Hudson sees how effective his midrange jump shot is and continues to look for it. He's a streaky shooter from outside but his midrange shot looked great tonight.
Crawford was very hot shooting tonight. Took what the defense gave him and made them pay. Still is a little careless with the ball sometimes but he is capable of making plays that no other player can make. Not exactly sure why Crawford was taken out of the game while he was hot and also why he was not then immediately put back in when the team started letting Coastal back into the game.
Totally respect TVH's effort and contributions but WF needs to avoid playing him. It's basically 4 on 5 during offensive possessions.
Collins did a much better job controlling his fouling tonight. Fouls will likely continue to be his achilles heel the entire season but hopefully he learned how to avoid the dumb ones. Might be the most versatile big man on the team with his ability to play down low and extend out for shorter midrange shots. He should really be playing as much as his fouls allow him to play and probably should play most of the time when Devin is not on the court so that there is a down low threat.
Devin had a poor game. WF managed to still win a game that they probably would have lost a few seasons ago without a strong Devin contribution.
Dinos has to contribute a lot on offense to warrant playing as he is the worst defensive player by a decent margin. His hedging on ball screens is so slow and then he loses his man when rotating back, which causes havoc and open shots.
His minutes were limited but Moore looked decent, especially on the put-back slam. Still has a while to go before possibly becoming a regular in the rotation but you can see him making strides.
I would comment on Wilbekin but I didn't really notice him besides some missed shots. An off game, he'll regroup and come back strong.
McClinton did a nice job playing within himself. Being a "junk man" could suit him really well. More games like tonight would be optimal for him.
Rondale played like 3 minutes, so it's tough to judge him. The announcers talked about him needing to play well to warrant more PT and he proceeded to turn the ball over right after the comment. So his one error was compounded by the announcer's statement.
CMM was okay tonight. Much more assertive tonight versus a few days ago. Still adjusting but had some key plays. It was drastically down from last year but CMM went into "hero mode" a few times during the game. Hero mode = doing things outside of his role & the flow of the offense. For every good play he makes when he's in that mood, he equals or exceeds it with a bad play. He's very talented and does not need to force his play as he's naturally one of the best players on the court.
