College Gameday on 9/12

Where will Gameday be?

I hope it isn't us. That would be depressing. But I do hope we get a good broadcast group.
 
Exciting news but a bummer that there will be no fans & the game will probably be a waxing.
 
Always thought the Boston College game in 2006 would have been the best College Game Day.
 
Any more info on the "viewing parties arranged close to the stadium"? How does one get in on that?
 
This is a good thing for Wake, mostly since it's the first of the season and that day will be the first day of college spots since March. There will be a ton of attention and probably more viewers than a normal season opening Game Day. It is disappointing that fans can't be present but this is still a huge win for Wake

I think it's lottery based -- as of last night, details still being ironed out.

Sounds like it'll be in a parking lot with painted-off areas for fans to stay in, but set up lawn chairs and watch the show on a series of videoboards.
 
Agree with BBD and Louis Gossett. If we could have scripted WFU’s first Gameday we all would have jokingly predicted something like this. And it’s actually happening. But, a chance to show the campus a little bit, not have the stadium filled with orange, and hopefully we can keep it competitive till halftime or Q3.

This. It's going to the best Wake Forest commercial in history. Most people don't even know what town Wake Forest is located in. Yes we will get crushed by Clemson but that's not until 7:30 that night and people will probably change the channel at that point anyway.

I'd love for Forbes to make an appearance in some way just to get some more Wake bball visibility (and let the world know we finally have a competent coach after the Decade of Unwiped Ass).

Really glad to finally be off the list of schools that have never hosted. Hated that piece of trivia.
 
There will be a ton of people watching Game Day as well as the game. Folks are starved for football. You can’t blame Wake for no fans. It would be the same in most other places. Hope they get in lots of shots of campus as well as our sports facilities. If we do this right it could be huge for recruiting.
 
If you don't laugh at the circumstances in which the Deacs get their first Gameday appearance, you may not have a sense of humor.

That said, this may be the largest audience to ever watch a Deacon football game and most viewers will be pulling for a Deacon victory. If there ever was a time for an epic upset, this will be the time.
