Conference Expansion: Stanford, California and SMU Join the ACC

Anyone know Dabo's thoughts on Taiwan? That could sink the China expansion.

Between law school tiers and community college rankings, this thread certainly delivers.

College of the Albermarle sounds fancy. Tier 1 cc name at least.

I’ve been working on a project that requires filtering out names of liberal arts colleges from community colleges. Sometimes there’s not much difference.

The expansion proposal was voted down a week ago. So, would guess that this would only be up for another vote if some circumstance had changed (e.g., like more money per school from a media partner as a result of the additional programming/content, as in West Coast time slots, that three additional schools would provide) with the idea that the change in circumstances is enough to convert a "no" vote into a "yes" vote. If Currie supports the adds; I support it. That said, with the exception of football, hard to see how just two schools on the West Coast is a workable scenario for other sports.

OTOH, University of Denver has a nationally ranked lacrosse program, and every year, all but two/three of their games are against teams in the eastern time zone. It has worked for them. So, maybe Stanford and Cal could make it work in other sports.
