For the record, Jefferson Davis was not a general. But he went to West Point and was a colonel in the US Army. He was also Secretary of War under Franklin Pierce.

Gotcha. I went to Sprayberry HS, the next HS south of Lassiter.

Close to the same stomping grounds. I played little league at Sandy Plains. My first checking account was at the First Atlanta bank pretty close to Sprayberry. I also vaguely remember a grocery store across the street (Ogletrees?) that I only went into once because my mom couldn't find white chocolate anywhere else.
