BlechDefined breaks from work are good, actually.
I block off lunch so my coworkers will expect that I'm not at my keyboard and I can go on a walk or something to reset my brain before the afternoon.

My employees who block off "Lunch" on their calendar. You're a Salary + Commission professional sales rep who WORKS FROM HOME. Talk 10 minutes walk to the Kitchen make a sandwich and get back on whatever call you need to be on.
Blocking lunch on your calendar. GTFOH.
I had an 8 am meeting this morning, so when I pulled up to daycare I slowed down and pushed my kids out of the car to make sure I got back home in time. #capitalismDefined breaks from work are good, actually.

not at all... i just expect people to get their work done and not make a production of when they are not working. If you can make your number in 20 hrs a week do it..Windy hates work life balance
You might see more short term productivity with this kind of culture but in the long term your employees will be less happy and less productive overall. Losing what sympathy I had for you as a manager with takes like this, lol.Blech
Blocking their calendar is making a production?not at all... i just expect people to get their work done and not make a production of when they are not working. If you can make your number in 20 hrs a week do it..
This is my problem. The blocking off of lunch feels performative...Isn’t sales an entirely results-based role? Who cares if you’re fucking off for 2 hours. You either make money for the company and hit your goals or you don’t.
with an OOO Status. just silly...Blocking their calendar is making a production?
Is blocking off time on the calendar to make sure you have uninterrupted non-screen/meeting time really making a production of it? Seems like it is setting clear boundaries and expectations in a way that is visible in a remote first/async culture?not at all... i just expect people to get their work done and not make a production of when they are not working. it does not seem performative to me. They are not sending an email blast telling everyone they’re not available. They are just letting people know they aren’t available so that they can let their brain restThis is my problem. The blocking off of lunch feels performative...
NO WONDER THEY CRYThis is my problem. The blocking off of lunch feels performative...
