I’ve actually had some really good carrot bacon that I made with soy sauce and liquid smoke

Liquid smoke is great. It’s been like 15 years since I last ate bacon, so I have little memory of what bacon actually tastes like, but I think liquid smoke + butter gets close…the texture is hard to replicate though.
