That was some RJ level invention of "facts" to support a shit argument.Literally nobody had this opinion.
No Wake fan even thought it was possible to suck this bad. We thought the floor was established in the lean Skip years.
Vastly improved press conferences.
EITHER the "free throws and paint touches" is a massive troll job mocking Currie, the media, and everyone in the fan base, OR Manning is fantastically clueless on a scale rarely seen at this level. Whichever it is, BOTH are completely unacceptable and John Currie simply has to lay down the line and defend what's left of the program from Manning's incompetence and disregard for authority. Since I think it's a troll job, this comes down to stealing money and flaunting it. Does his own employer not care that he is making a mockery of MSD? In roughly two months from right now we will know.
Currie has to realize that there will be a small but vocal minority of the fanbase who will lose their minds if Manning is retained. That probably doesn't scare him too much, but I wish it did. We all made noise about Bz and it's time we make noise about Manning. WINTER IS COMING
I don't think it will merely be a small part of the fanbase that will lose their minds if Manning is retained...
Why did you post these, Netflix???
Well, he's not a old white guy...18M but no gold wedding band
Literally nobody had this opinion.
I mean, there was zero reason for him to stick around last year. That dog and pony show w/ Wellman and Manning after the season when they announced he'd be back and they talked to the media was pretty much a slap in the face to every Wake Forest Basketball fan. Wellman lied to our faces and expected the fans to just take it over the last ~8-9 years... That enrages me when I think about it.
The ONLY reason for keeping Manning last year was money... And I guess that Currie probably was fine with punting on a season in order to lay the groundwork for a home run hire.
But whether they fire him at the end of this year or not, it's already been a season too long (at least) and the fans have been alienated.
Sometimes I feel like most of us only still post around here because we don't want to start posting elsewhere with a bunch of strangers. It's more about the camaraderie for me at this point than any real allegience to the current Wake Forest athletic program.
None of this, of course, is directed at you LK... It just set me off for some reason. If he's retained this year, I don't think I'll feel any worse than I did after last season. That was a real shit sandwich I felt like I was forced to eat.
