Need linebackers. Need 2 more playable linebackers, or next seasons defense won't be any better than this year, regardless of coaching.
But yeah, I'm super pumped for Lambert.

Are there any available worth a damn in portal or ones that may can sign in Spring signing period?
That would be good. Hopefully Lambert can coach up some younger guys. We’ve signed some pretty decent talent on paper.
I'm hoping we can put 20 lbs on Garnes and he can make the switch.
From what I've seen in my research, one Lambert's priorities is scheming around players and putting them in the good positions to succeed. Would be curious what happened with Purdue year over year, but I suspect with a good coordinator we'll see a lot of benefit just right there -- it felt like maybe some guys were asked to do more than what they were capable of. I'm no football expert, but my least favorite anecdote of the season was when we apparently tried to craft a while whole unique scheme and created a new position for the Navy game that fell apart as soon as one guy got injured -- seems like a classic example of suboptimization that they love talking about in MBA classes.
The other thing I'm encouraged about is the emphasis on aggressiveness (which might help with the above). Saw some Purdue fans talking about how successful the shift from their previous "bend but don't break" philosophy to Lambert's scheme.
