Diamond Deacs 2019 (Offseason) | 5 Deacs Drafted

Compared to the 2017 season:

Team ERA has gone from 4.11 to 5.85
WHIP has deteriorated from 1.35 to 1.64
In 2017 teams hit .247 against WF; this year .277

Offensively the team average/OPS was .308/.910
This year those numbers are .288/.856 respectively
 
Amazingly, we are now #49 in RPI. I still think we would be pretty safe with 2 series wins.
 
With two series left before the ACC tourney, WF is tied with Clemson for the 8th seed (both are 12-12), Duke is currently the 7th seed at 13-11 and Miami is the 6th seed at 14-10. WF plays Clemson to end the season, and play Miami this weekend. WF hold the tiebreaker over Duke. Barring at total collapse WF should be seeded between 6 and 9 for the ACC tourney (top 12 in the conference make the tournament). A little ACC tourney run would help the Deacs NCAA chances in addition to taking the last 2 series.

hopefully moot - Deacs break open a close game in the 5th with 3 HR's, by Seymour (of course), Muntz, and Steel

Deacs lead 7-1 after 5

pitcher for Davidson had allowed 2 HR's on the year (55 IP) before that inning
 
Kinda strange, but maybe trying to get some other bats going against a bad team.

Steel just hit a second homer — would be amazing if his bat is warming up as we get into these late season series, although he’s always seemed to mostly feast on bad pitching.
 
About to blow a 9-2 lead in the 8th. Given up 5 runs without getting an out

9-8 in bottom of 8th. Moderate rain - will they call this? Not likely I think.
 
This Miami series is huge. 2 of 3 would go a long way to getting us in.
