Donald Impeachment

Written bigly so he doesn’t need his reading glasses.

Rudy about to get crushed by Fox. A current headline uses quotes around "assumed," no doubt to set up the argument that Sondland's assumption was incorrect and Rudy was acting on his own:

Amb Sondland: I 'assumed' Giuliani was acting on Trump's behalf

Fox and the pubs have their marching orders. They'll be goose stepping to this by sundown.

Yes, 40% of America will hear only that even if Trump did this, it is completely ok. If it were bad, it's all on Giuliani. Sondland is now disloyal to Trump and therefore not believable and that text message he sent to Taylor conflicts with his testimony now, and the text message is the truth. Also, Schiffty Schiff is somehow still hiding the ball. And Trump was directly appointed by Jesus himself. That's what will happen.

Ambassador says 'everyone was in the loop' on pushing Ukrainians to investigate Bidens

US Ambassador Gordon Sondland testified Wednesday there was a quid pro quo for Ukraine to announce investigations into President Donald Trump's political opponents that came from Rudy Giuliani at the "express direction of the President."
What's more, Sondland provided House impeachment investigators with emails and texts showing it wasn't just him and Giuliani pushing for the investigations outside government channels — Trump's inner circle knew what was going on, too. He even said he raised concerns with Vice President Mike Pence that the freezing of $400 million in security aid to Ukraine was linked to the investigations.

Pence denying. Nothing to see here.

Despite all of the additional testimony that Sondland said there was a quid pro quo, Trump and the GOP are now seizing on the one soundbite of Sondland's recollection of his call with Trump when Trump said he didn't want a quid pro quo. GOP will pounce on the smallest piece of cover they can find.

Also, can we talk about the fact that Sondland said Trump knew he was calling him on an insecure cell phone to discuss negotiations with a foreign country? Good Lord.

Yup. First, it's not in Trump's nature to resign. He's a street fighter who has to be KO'd. Second, Pub senators know Trump's approval rating among self identifying Pubs is still through the roof, and they know they'll be primaried if they vote to convict. The only Pub senator I can see voting to convict is maybe Cornyn. Collins is running for reelection, and Romney has no spine.

Republicans are living in a different world than everyone else. As long as being in that world is important to them, they’ll do everything possible to stay in it.

I've lost it in all the mess, but wasn't that phone call AFTER the whistleblower complaint and the Trump-Zel phone convo memo were public?

A conversation that happened several weeks after the whistleblower complaint, and, you know, months after the July 25 call. Not CYA at all. The GOP thinks everyone is an idiot and, lucky for them, everyone in their base is an idiot.
