Donald Impeachment

"The investigation was of something that happened in the past. Are we supposed to stop all investigations because someone is a political opponent?"

Nope. Only if you're the president.

Also, i agree most evangelicals won't abandon trump. If they did its not admitting they were wrong. God used the necessary tool to get those supreme court justices and now he has placed pence and mother. He works the long game.

It's been announced that the CIA and Russia's FSB will be doing cyber defense project together. Are you fucking kidding me? Did Putin drink a bottle of vodka before asking his cronies, "do you think we can get Trump to do this?"

They probably drank some more, said no and then decided to do it as a practical joke feeling no one is stupid enough to say yes on our end.

Can you think of any other reason than the ones below for this happening:

Putin has a ton of shit on Trump
Trump is the stupidest motherfucker ever born
Trump is a Russian agent

Is this legit?

This exact idea came up like a year or two ago and fortunately congress told trump to go pound sand.

Good god.

When are we giving Alaska away? Fucking American firesale this week apparently.

Fuck trump.

In a perverse way, Mulvaney's job could be safer today than it was Wednesday. People were starting to look at him as a player in this mess. He was subpoenaed and following the team line. If they fire him now, he could become a martyr for the truth. The first stories will be "Mulvaney was fired for telling the truth".

His statements could be his best defense in bizarro world.

Mick Mulvaney followed up his disastrous press conference last week with a disastrous interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday today. Mulvaney denied that he said the things he's accused of, and Wallace replied by playing tapes of Mulvaney saying what he had just denied saying to Wallace. Mulvaney then claimed that he had been "misinterpreted", but to his credit Wallace said "Anyone listening to what you said in that briefing could come to only one conclusion.” LOL.

ETA: I wonder if Trump will go after Wallace now - he certainly seems no longer willing to tolerate any dissent at his favorite network. Maybe it's again time to send Barr for a private chat with Murdoch?

Pompeo is on ABC. George S. was grilling him about Mulvaney's statements and the Secretary of State looked like he was in a hostage video. I wonder if he's starting feel that Trump is ruining his own political future as well.

Both George S. and Chuck Todd have been pretty good in their interviews lately. Their roundtables still suck though, which is why I don't watch them as often as I used to. Was Chris Christie on the roundtable? I'm sure he defended Trump and claimed that all this impeachment stuff will backfire on the Democrats and help Trump by firing up his base, and that no matter how unpopular Trump is, it won't matter if the Dems nominate Warren, because Trump will destroy her in next year's election because she's a socialist. He's like a broken record at this point.

I will be amazed if even 5 Senate Republicans vote to remove him from office. Unless his job approval poll numbers drop well into the 30s, and the number of people supporting impeachment climbs well into the 60s, I can't imagine more than a handful, at most, of Senate Republicans voting to convict and remove him from office. They remain terrified of his base - which is also their base - and being primaried. It's telling that the one GOP House member who said he would "consider" impeachment if he felt the evidence warranted it also announced that he's retiring next year, and won't run for reelection.

Depends on if the impeachment vote is after the deadline to file to run in a primary.

No Republicans who are running in 2020 can vote to remove Trump unless there is a lot more evidence. Maybe a couple who were elected in 2018 could.

What's a shame is that determining how much of a benefit/emolument Trump got from floating the Doral deal is an inexact process. If a marketing auditor could be found, I'd be shocked if Trump hasn't benefited by more than $10,000,000 thus far. That number could top $25,000,000 worldwide without being outrageous.

But this too difficult for most Americans to understand or be pushed to favor Trump's removal.
