Drug Testing for Public Assistance

The premise that was quoted is wrong. The idea that immense capital is replaceable by low skill labor is not is pretty foolish.

Automation FTW!

Wrangor, I've got some literature in my car that will change your whole way of thinking.

Post it. I will read it. I am always looking to grow. To me the facts of this matter is that cheap unskilled labor is always available in a global economy. The average uneducated laborer has to compete against the world, which wasn't the case 100 years ago. So that idea that that auto company owner needs the auto company worker is a false premise. He will make his automobile in the most efficient manner possible. If unions raise the price of producing it in his/her current factory they will simply move the factory, which is exactly what happens. But I would love to read whatever it is you think will change my whole way of thinking.

So then Wrangor, why do we blame the low skilled laborer for not having a job?

Even in your model here, the automobile is made by laborers and not the capitalist

I am not sure of your question. Who is blaming anyone? Have I blamed someone? I tend to avoid the word 'blame'. I just try to operate in reality. In reality there will always be people in power. It is a constant through the history of our time. Some people are smarter, better, richer, etc... and they will have more power. Creating a false paradigm that attempts to shift that power is fruitless and counterproductive IMO. Better efforts would be spent creating a system that prepares our workforce to compete for jobs in our new world wide economy.

Yes, but there will always be an endless supply, and if humans fail to produce efficiently the capitalist will just use robots. Its a losing battle to attempt to take power in that manner. It has never proven fruitful throughout human history. Even in the case of true REVOLUTION, the society eventually trends back towards the story. You can look at the US as a perfect example. Humanity is always seeking power, and it is rarely giving. From the poorest to the richest, the human condition is geared to acquire power. In my opinion it is better to acquire power by refining your skills to maximize your output within the system, or create something so unique that it upsets the system. Socialism doesn't work because in its attempt to balance the playing field it inevitably creates a new subset of power struggles, but this time there is no competition to refine those battles. A new power group is formed that has no peers, because there are literally no ladders to topple a government subsidized power system unless there is an all out revolution. This revolution eventually occurs because humanity cannot exist forever under suppression.

This is why I believe Debs to be almost irrelevant in modern times. His philosophy was only effective at the time because the labor force was isolated geographically. Now that we are a global economy his advice is the equivalent of sawing off the limb you are perched upon. You are attempting to inflict damage on the tree, but in the end you just end up face first on the ground and the tree continues to grow new branches.

Tony Stark is the only capitalist who builds his own robots. The rest use labor.

You're creating a false dichotomy between American capitalism and socialism. There are more choices.

You aren't but jhmd is, as are the rest of the pseudo libertarian set who believe that any able-bodied person who doesn't have a job or a higher paying job is lazy and gaming the system for free shit

You don't read good. Read gooder.

I think anyone who works here is a sap. You understand the Santas at Bloomfield's are making double what you are? I bet that beard itches doesn't it? So when you get a rash all over your face in January do you think Coleman's will be there with a medical plan?

Okay. Well please don't me responsible for someone else's opinion. I have my own.

Debs wasn't a socialist? That is who my argument was against.
