Duke is a dirty team with a Punk coach

Cut and Claw clearly don't like each other. When Clawson first arrived I recall Wake recruiting a guy Duke was after, and we posted one of those mock photos of the player in Wake gear with some probably cheesy caption and Cutcliffe commented on it in a press conference to the effect of "we don't do that stuff over here/we're too classy/maybe they feel they have to do that "over there" to compete"; I'm sure that hit a nerve with Clawson. And I took Clawson's post-game "if we could cover kicks the game wouldn't have been close" as him saying "take out those 2 kicks and we whipped your ass all night long on both sides of the ball".

Clawson usually makes a point to not mention duke by name. He’s been that way since his opening press conference where he made comparisons to “that school down the road” or something like that. I respect the hate he has in his heart.

Do you remember how pissed Cut was when "The Phonz" picked off that pass at the end of a game (that was a sure TD) to save a Wake win. The guy was wide open in the end zone and #2 looked like spiderman snaring that ball on his fingertips. I can't remember exactly what Cut said in the post game interview but I was surprised the HC would make those comments. He hated Wake when Grobe was coaching too.

Ya know, I know why we Wake fans hate Dook. I also have a decent idea why Clawson dislikes them.
But, I do kinda wonder what the hell Cu*tcliff has against us?
Is it really just the fact we've overall owned their asses over the last 20 years or so?

I think it has to do with LOWF. Because we're Wake Forest, Duke thinks we're the one ACC team that they shouldn't lose to. It pisses them off when they do, particularly as often as it's happened over the last 20 years

Not sure why, with the our new facilities, we've got better facilities all the way around now. Even with the renovations to Wally Wade, BB&T is still nicer and our new on campus stuff is great.

It's because duke thinks they're special, and they have developed and encouraged in their athletes, students, faculty, and alumni a culture of being special. And what being special means when it comes to sports is that you don't have to follow the rules. In the job market it means that you're better than the other candidates. And when it comes to facilities, for example, it means that old, run down shit-holes must be treated as venerable.

When you think you're special, losing to anyone else, at anything, is unacceptable.

cheap unnecessary shove at the end of the play.

Meh. I played the game. That's just frustration in a very violent game. Wasn't a cheap shot. Stuff like that happens.

agree, bitch move. And I hope we never try to pull that shit .

With all due respect to Herron, and he's been a warrior for us for years, I just can't agree.

Fake injuries are a bitch move. Sorry, not sorry.
The guy is a current athlete. Can't call out your opponents for cheating. Stay classy in public and talk mad shit behind the scenes and while they're faking injuries on the field. Let your coach do the talking to the media.

Coaches having police escorts is stupid and reeks of narcissism & self importance. If your event staff is worth a damn, no one is getting to the field and you don't need an additional cop to simply run around and occasionally push aside players and media that have every right to be there.

Are star pro or college athletes permitted their own personal security next to them on the field? Can media bring their own security to ensure they have easy access to any area or player/coach that they need?
