Compromised?
Yes. Compromised.
If he's unable to denounce and properly respond to the actions of the NYPD, to keep them from running their cars into crowds, to keep them from hiding their badges with tape, and to keep their leadership from acting out against him... He's got to go.
here's one of my favorite restaurants in DC, Maketto
they created a food pantry at the start of the coronavirus pandemic for homeless people to come in and get food any time they wanted
the owners are terrific people
it is sad their property has been damaged
i can hold that thought in my head and simultaneously understand what's happening with looting and riots
Understand or condone ?
who am i, emperor?
i'm not out here calling for larceny as a good means of getting policy change
i also think without the headlines, the camera crews, and the property damage, cops would be held even less accountable than they already are
You're a guy with an opinion. And it still sounds like condone to me. It's not hard to condemn burning down a building.
I invite posters who are more concerned about the broken glass of storefronts than the Black bodies in the ground to listen more to marginalized voices in their community and speak less.

Ok, this is obviously not the point and that is abhorrent, but my first thought as a father of two daughters is "why the fuck would you have your kid anywhere near one of these demonstrations?"
Not a fan of the looting or larceny of small businesses, but isn't every metro area business basically forced to buy insurance for this kind of thing? I get that additional work has to go into rebuilding, but these businesses should be reimbursed. And if not, that's on the scumbags who run the insurance industry. And I could give two shits if this eats into the profits of those social pariahs.
The Raleigh protesters showed off their intelligence by vandalizing and looting Ashley Christiansen's restaurants! For those of you who don't know, she is gay and a progressive leader who's motto is not to forget kindness. Fuck her!

Of course I'm more concerned by the inequitable treatment and disgusting bigotry that our black community faces than some broken windows. I can still be pissed off about taking out that anger and frustration on the people who support the same goals and ideals as the peaceful protesters. I repeat, go start shit in the red counties. But I guess that wouldn't be the safe space that liberal Raleigh and Charlotte offer.
