F is for Fascism (Ferguson MO)

Much better than the inane logic of equating a police officer to some dude who gets into a bar fight.

I must have read the same report that DC did, showing that Wilson didn't get any immediate treatment on his eye. I'm sure you all have seen the news reports showing that broken orbital bone diagnosis, but I haven't. Was that info released alongside the robbery video?

What's the source stating this eye injury?

Most of the "coverage" on his injury features a CT scan image that isn't even Wilson's. It reeks of bullshit.

I think people are hyping the term orbital blowout, he essentially got punched in the face, connecting most likely directly in the orbit. Its very easy to get micro fractures and spidering along the bones that make up this area as you have seven bones coming together in one area. Unless there is severe trauma you will have a very bad black eyes, bloody nose, and probably very few other outward symptoms. Upon xray they would need to determine how severe the fracturing is but a lot of times the area heals up on its own with no complications. If BacktoBack is around I believe he is a ENT specialist probably shed more light on the scary sounding "blowout" like his eye exploded or something.

Maybe this is #inane but I hold trained law enforcement officers to higher standards than "dudes who get into bar fights."

I do too, but I also afford them greater protections as well since they are public servants.

The circumstances matter also. If you have one potentially violent person and 4 cops, its different than an attacker on one cop with another potential attacker present.

You have to think if the police had a picture of Wilson with a fucked up face they would have released it along with the pictures of Brown stealing those cigars.

I do not know they may be holding that for the legal process

Just listened to the presser from this morning and went and found the following timeline that was explained in the presser:

11:48 a.m. to noon – An officer (Wilson) responds to a call of a sick person.

11:51 a.m. – Another call comes in about a robbery at a convenience store. The dispatcher gives a description of the robber and says the suspect is walking toward the Quick Trip convenience store.

12:01 p.m. – The officer encounters Michael Brown and a friend as they walk down a street. Brown is shot to death as a result of the encounter.

12:04 p.m. – A second officer arrives on the scene followed by a supervisor one minute later. An ambulance responding to the earlier sick person call drives by and responds to assess Brown.

Sounds like the response time was pretty quick for other officers to arrive on the scene, who then presumably called the nearby ambulance. I'm wondering where the audio is of Wilson calling in the other officers? Or 911 calls from witnesses?

stop stop stop platitudes only let's not qualify our truisms with real thought

The only links I see to an orbital fracture are conservative outlets.

But if the guy hurts you, then you start to leave and come back to get your revenge, you've committed a crime.

Had he shot Brown the first time, it's a different story.

What a shock!

If he had a broken face, we'd very, very, very likely know by now.

It's the "Josie evidence". Unlike how some here reported it and how it was told on some media outlets, she is NOT an eye witness. She is giving hearsay from Wilson.

Who claimed she was an eye witness?

He isn't coming back to "get his revenge". He is going back to arrest Brown for a serious Felony. You can't hit a cop and struggle for his weapon and then say "no harm no foul".

Wait, you mean the whole "broken/blown out orbital bone" story is still in dispute? I was wondering why I hadn't seen that info on the semi-unbiased news sources i've been using.
