I would support raising the gunning age to 21, holding gun stores liable for not cutting gun nuts off when they’ve had too many guns, and many other parallel laws to drunk driving.

I think the entire point is to make it to where guns are not as ingrained into American culture as alcohol (you can liken it to opioids if you want). Some would argue we're already past the tipping point. I think prohibitionists had a good point and a strong argument. The problem was it wasn't practical.

Personally I don't think we can expect people over the age of 21 to be able to be responsible drinkers. Since people can't be trusted to be able to drink, the responsible drinkers should have to put the bottle down. Lives aren't worth the price of having a good time. Drinking with children is akin to keeping a loaded gun in your home, or owning a Pittbull.
