Fedora lands helicopter at North Davidson HS

Apparently a big attempt to try and recruit Shy Tuttle

Come on Fedora, a helicopter on a practice field during a HS football game? Does this have a precedent? And shouldn't he be worried about not getting rolled by BC in 16 hours?
 
He better do something or he'll be updating his resume. Heels are not good this year.


Losing to ECU only makes the high and mighty heel fans more angry about their plight.
 
So texting a recruit is a violation. Dropping a UNC branded chopper on the field isn't. Got it.

This has been going on for years. Fedora did it earlier this year, too. Pretty much every school that can afford it flies a helicopter to the schools now to impress all the ham-and-eggers in the stands. Tennessee must be thanking their lucky stars Fedora turned them down.

With how Southern Miss has been since he left it's pretty clear that castle was built on sand. Dude might just be not very good

I wasn't aware of this and just looked it up. While I'm not sure what the justification is for them to have this hangar it could have been far worse- the state was prepared to let them use eminent domain laws to seize land in Orange County and spend $50-$100 million building their own airport!

It's a real fucking shame that Wake isn't going to get Shy Tuttle. He would literally be the big man on campus.

North Davidson is 20 minutes away from Wake.

Pretty cool actually. Heard he was going to do it at lunch on Friday. Mailman's son plays football for North Davidson and they already knew it was happening. It gives other recruits a chance to get seen also and step up their games. ND is a big time program and battling West Forsyth this year for the conference title next week. This kid Shy Tutle is only a junior. All the SEC schools have come calling also. He is a moose. The helicopter is not a violation.

In the surrounding counties, Wake might as well be 10,000 miles away. Wake wanted to separate itself as an elite, aloof school. It's accomplished this goal remarkably well.

No one, other than multi-millionaires or really dumb people who like pissing their money away, can afford to send their kid to Wake. So, Wake Forest is not a hot topic in the local community.
Most people can't identify with a local school which essentially has told the surrounding community to go fuck themselves. So, can't blame any kid who simply does not see Wake on his radar.
Hell, LSU is probably more welcoming and cordial than the school just 15 minutes from his house.

It is a shame but Wake chose to be alone on this island of culture change. I think our pompous, asshole of an AD exemplifies this new Wake persona VERY WELL!

Good post. Wake has done a lot recently to tell the local community to fuck off, which just seems dumb to me since maybe 5K alums attend football games. Wake athletics are a lot more dependent on non-alumni than most people realize. Its what happens when most of your alums move away.
