53% approval? What poll is that? According to realclearpolitics, Trump's approval rating has been steadily dropping again over the past couple of weeks. Two weeks ago he was "only" 11 points underwater (still a record low), now he's over 15 points underwater again. Rasmussen's daily tracking now has him at 52% disapprove/48% approve, down from plus-one approve just a few days ago. Two polls out today - Gallup and Investors Business Daily (IBD) - have him at 16 and 21 points underwater, respectively. The IBD poll was one of the few to give Trump a lead on election day in 2016; the fact that it now has Trump at just 37% approve/58% disapprove is rather significant, I would think.
