1) the Russians meddled in our democratic voting process
2) the Russians actively meddled on behalf of their preferred candidate Trump
3) they approached the trump campaign who did not turn them away or report it
4) trump campaign accepted the help, even tacitly
5) republicans lay cover fire with misdirection and outright lies because they favor party over the right thing

Honestly I think this is one of the primary reasons we don’t see conservatives posting as much anymore (Junebug, JH). It’s increasingly difficult, and has been for two years, to justify the republican admin’s behavior while identifying as a Republican. It’s embarrassing.

Agreed. Fewer and fewer conservatives may be publicly willing to admit that they support him, or to argue on his behalf on boards like these, but in private he still has legions of followers and fanatics who will gladly vote for him next year. They may only show up to post whenever he seems to win a big victory (like Kavanaugh getting to the SC last year), but they're definitely still around in large numbers. Hatred of liberals and wishing to humiliate them "trumps" all else, it would seem, including nearly all so-called conservative values and beliefs.

To add, this place isn’t a “liberal echo chamber.” That’s just what conservative posters say because the actions of the REPUBLICAN administration are impossible to defend, so they make excuses, because this admin is impossible to defend. That’s it. There’s no justifying what’s happening. Sure there can be minor forms of “both sides” but Trumps admin has taken things to an unmatchable level. Pubs here need to own it. It’d be nice to. Have that honesty. And those who don’t post anymore because they’re embarrassed need to own the fact that their party has been taken hostage by a phony and do something about it.
