Fuck yeah, Science!

Birdman is going to be pissed. SpaceX/Elon fanboys are calling this a success because it was expected to explode (which makes you wonder why they didn't say that in advance)?

Deleting because I like birds.

Turns out that it was blown up on purpose. Some of the engines didn't work so it would not have made it to orbit. Sounded like command destruct system was activated. Could also have been automatic destruct because the trajectory was far enough below planned.

If you look at the video, at one point they have the view of the engines and not all 33 are showing fire.

Sorry wildlife.

So they blew it up because it failed.

In all seriousness, it would be useful to be able to ensure it comes down when they want rather than a failure over a populated area for example.

But yeah, they are trying to cover their asses.

Blowing it up was the right thing to do. Imagine if it went into Mexico and landed in a populated area. But I imagine the plan was to land it in the water as usual.

Voyager 2 has been flying for 45 years and is about 14 billion miles away from earth. NASA scientists did some tweaks to its operations to extend the operation of its instruments an communications radio for another three years.

45 years ago, our phone had to be attached from the wall and we had to adjust an antenna to keep a TV signal. Yet we had the capacity to send something into space billions of miles away and continue to tinker with it to get it to last almost 50 years.

45 YEARS WAS NOT THAT LONG AGO!!!1!

The power of radioactivity to keep things operating where sunshine is just another star in the sky.

Space'X launching tonight. 16th launch for the booster.

Henrietta Lacks estate and family settled their law suit against Thermo-Fisher for taking and using cells from her body without permission and, until now, without compensation. HeLa cells are one of the most used test beds in biological science. The immortal cell line derived from her cells has produced literally tons of human cells since they were collected in1951.

Seeing lots of chatter that multiple labs have replicated the room temp superconductor. Game changer.

So did we get the superconductor tech from the aliens orrrrr…
