NASA's New Horizons to continue exploring outer solar system

NASA has announced an updated plan to continue New Horizons' mission of exploration of the outer solar system.

Looks like the New Horizons spacecraft (my avatar) will continue to do science in low power mode for a while. Project scientists are still looking for another Kuiper Belt object to visit.

And today, January 19, marks 18 years of flight for the New Horizons Spacecraft. It is still healthy and sending data. It's science managers are looking for another Kuiper Belt object to visit. There is significant remaining maneuvering fuel to do so.

After a long period of just sending gibberish, Voyager 1 is back being useful.
