General Election Thread: Two Weeks Out

Watching Hillary speaking about Trumps trip, what really stood out to me is just how unlikable she is. I don't think we have had such a low charisma person run for president in the modern era.

She seems like someone who would be absolutely awful to have to spend time with. She may be a really nice person, but she does not project that.

She is the exact opposite of Bill in this regard. If she loses, it will likely because people just don't want to vote for her.

I think this is always the case for the loser.

Hillary is a dud, but Trump is hyper erratic and can't stop sabotaging himself. Partisans will be pissed that their flawed candidate lost, but everyone else will be pissed that we had such shitty choices and one of them "won".

Did he not think the President of Mexico was going to call him a liar about their meeting?

Think about how many crotchety old parrotheads are throwing out their parrotheads and cursing Jimmy's name.

Trump's immigration rope-a-dope

Having ditched his traveling press corps, Trump’s lie that he and President Enrique Pena Nieto didn’t discuss who would pay for his border wall wasn’t exposed until the Mexican president tweeted that they had a few hours later. And minutes after he stepped onto another stage here Wednesday night and began to speak to his raucous supporters, it was even more clear that the sojourn across the southern border, much like his campaign's two-weeks of gentle walkbacks, was a ruse—that Trump and his campaign had used Pena Nieto as a prop in an opening act that served only to set up an evening stem-winder. The farce was, in hindsight, clear even before Trump approached the mic, as two of his warm-up speakers, Rudy Giuliani and Jeff Sessions, donned Trump hats that read “Make Mexico Great Again too.”

Time after time, the crowd of more than 5,000 people, clad in red Trump hats and waving campaign signs, erupted unprompted into chants of “Build the wall!” and “Lock her up!”

lol, wtf?

At least they added "too." Otherwise people would have thought they only wanted to make Mexico great again.

General Election Thread: Clinton vs. Trump vs. Johnson

It's make Mexico great again also, no way did they want to explain to their redneck rube supporters that the extra o on too wasn't a type

Trump claims the first 2 Million illegals will be deported within the first hour of his time in office. Fan girl Ann Coulter claims there are 40 M illegals. As an aside, props to Jeb advisor Rick Wilson who asked Coulter on Twitter if Trump paid extra for anal.

Even if someone's a true believer in deportation, 2 M couldn't be round up and deported in an hour and 40 M could never be round up and deported. Same thing with confiscating 300 M guns. Didn't take 60 pointless Obamacare repeal votes to know it would never pass in the Senate or be signed by Obama. Shitty policies are one thing, but babbling about unfeasible nonsense is worse.

Corey Lewandowski: Trump’s Immigration Speech Was For White Men

“Look, I think Donald Trump’s message tonight was the message that he started with back on June of 2015, which was ‘America First,’” Lewandkowski said. “That’s what he believes, and what he is playing to — and if you look at the polling data, he’s got about an 18 point lead in the demographic of white males who are voting in this election.”

“They have a high propensity of voting, and so he’s got about an 18 point lead on Hillary Clinton in that particular demographic,” he continued. “This speech is clearly geared at those individuals right now, to make sure they are there, he has locked them in for the election.”

Romney won the white male vote by 25 points, but sure.

Where was this bad ass that was going to make Mexico pay for this wall? "We didn't discuss". Trump is such a pussy fraud.

I don't support building a wall, but I'm 100% sure Trump will make Mexico pay for it if he does. He'll simply find a way to take it out their allowance; sort of like how you get a teenager to pay for crashing your car. Trump will hold all of the cards on this one and he's way to shrewd to let Mexico off the hook.

You can't be serious. He holds no cards. If he tries to raise tariffs for Mexican products coming into the US (BTW a significant portion of those products are made with US parts and Mexican completion), then Mexico will put an equal or larger tariff on US products going into Mexico.

This would cost millions of US jobs as we export about $500B to Mexico each year.

Trump is so shrewd that ALL of his casinos in AC went bust.

It's batshit crazy to think Mexico will pay one peso towards this insane wall.

The US gives Mexico over $200,000,000 in foreign aid per year. Could a portion of that not be withheld?

Let's see if we withheld 100% of $200M/year, assuming no cost inflation, it would only take 125 years to pay the low end of the $25B a wall would cost. That doesn't include the costs of maintenance or extra employees.

Yep, that would really make a dent.

LOL. You think a "portion" of that could pay for the wall?
