Well average and median are different, as we all know. There are a lot more 400 lbers than 25 lbers that throw off the average.

gotcha. to deacphan's point it would be interesting to see what the median weight is as well. the theory that more super-fatties are pulling the mean higher is sound based on my anecdotal observation skills.
be cool to see what the average and medians were in the 90s.

What I got from that (assuming the CDC data is a similar sample set) is that white US women on average weigh less than the average US woman.
I wonder if white women have gotten heavier or lighter relative to the average woman since the 90s.
