Horrible play calling in 1st half that should have cost us game and wore out our D as being on field so much. Have to give Hinton some series if Wolford is struggling and let him be another weapon on the field as he can make plays. Especially if we are going to stay so committed to the run.

Have to play to win especially when need a 1st down late and run on 3rd and long???

Great teams play to win and coach the team expecting them to make plays. Our O coaches need a wake up.

Some off the wall play to get a first down with a fumble and most here crucify Clawson. I'm ok with basic and safe.

If we make better passes early and catch the ball late, the first half turns out a lot better and people aren’t complaining.

Is it possible they kept today's offensive plays pretty basic so as not to show too much before big conference games against FSU and Clemson? Our variety of plays seemed vanilla (in Lobo fashion).

We played like shit and still won. I'm grateful for that. Sometimes it's good to be lucky. We'd better step it up a few notches from this point forward.

if it was 3rd and 5 from the 45 maybe, not from the 15 yard line.

If we aren't comfortable throwing it in 3rd and 5 from our 15 against App State, we just might as well fold up shop with the big boys we play.

Playing the percentages means you do what has a higher percentage chance of creating 5 or more yards. So playing the percentages would be throwing the ball. Running is doing the opposite

Hard for our guys to get pumped for App even when we know how they play. They're a lesser vessel with no national footprint and we play FSU and major programs next week and beyond. It's always the same problem with this game. It will never change. It's why those of us who are sane Wake fans believe we should never play it.

A lot of excuses here imo. At what point do we stop saying we’re hiding the majority of our playbook? Ruggiero didn’t hide anything, we squeaked out a win against App St. that we shouldn’t have. We have no business hiding our playbook for our next opponent when in danger of losing the game at hand. A loss to Appalachian would have likely been devastating for our season with the remaining schedule we have.

This is exactly right.

Well our DB's dropped 3 interceptions, two of which could have been pick 6 - Davis and Bassey. Second dropped pick 6 for Bassey already. Our play calling that last series was awful. If you want to try to run wide then put in number 5. Colburn ran parallel to line of scrimmage twice and then got stuffed on third down.
